**Cloud Engineer - Azure - Nottingham - Hybrid Working - £45k-£55k** We have partnered up with a British Institution based out of Nottingham to help them find an Azure Cloud Engineer. The role is key in helping them continue their journey away from on prem to cloud services. They need someone who has a cloud first mentalityand has been involved in a similar type of journey from on prem to the cloud. This would be a great role for an infrastructure engineer who has a focus on cloud based technologies. **Duties** - Establish standards and best practices for managing Microsoft cloud services and their integration with other IT systems. - Administer the Azure subscriptions and work with IT Operations team to ensure that environments are optimised, and changes planned effectively. - Provide expert specialist technical advice, expertise and leadership on complex tasks and queries to colleagues within the team and across the department and manage the day-to-day monitoring of Microsoft cloud services, analysing and interpreting outputsto propose service improvements. - Working in a cross-functional delivery team to utilise cloud technologies effectively. - Sharing knowledge and expertise to enable all members of the team to work in an automated, repeatable fashion. - Deploy and configure production systems, with a particular focus on automation, ease of configuration, reduction of human error, repeatability, and security. - Collaborate with other teams to design, implement and evolve automated pipelines in the cloud. - Monitor new features/functionality and assess their Ops implications to continuously improve services. - Monitor infrastructure by setting appropriate thresholds and react to event driven alerts appropriately. - Discover and recommend ways to improve reliability and efficiency. - Maintain an overarching service dashboard and reporting. - Produce and maintain documentation of support processes & resolutions to known operational issues. - Participate in an on-call rota as required. **Required**: - ITIL - AZ900 - Experience in a support environment - Good understanding of networking and infrastructure on-prem and cloud - Experience influencing and driving change in organisations (or the desire to) - Working as a technical resource in a projects environment - Understanding of SQL, databases and data - Desire for a "security first" approach to infrastructure and development - System administration experience - Provable desire to learn and improve - Create and maintain concise documentation - Office 365 administration - Fundamentals of DR - Access control - SQL Server Administration
