The Queen Elizabeth Hospital supports the continued learning and development of medical students from Cambridge University Hospital and Norwich Medical School.

We are looking for an apprentice, to provide administrative support to the Medical Undergraduate Administration Team.

As part of the role, you will support our administrators in organising the teaching, inductions and timetabling. You will also assist with analysing and reporting data and maintaining databases, liaising with colleagues across the trust and acting as first point of contact for face to face and telephone queries.

You will need to be well organised, creative, a problem solver and confident in dealing with a diverse range of people. Knowledge of the Healthcare sector would be an advantage.

Excellent administrative skills and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential for this post as a considerable amount of time will be spent creating and maintaining documents such as timetables and spreadsheets. Accuracy and attention to detail are also vital.

This role requires flexibility and may involve some early starts and/or late finishes. In return, we are committed to personal development and training and will offer you the opportunity to complete a level 3 business administration qualification and fulfil your individual potential.

Main Responsibilities
1. Assist with the organisation of teaching for medical students.
2. Assist with the organisation of inductions for medical students.
3. Assist with the development of teaching timetables.
4. Assisting with admin support to lead clinicians, regional supervisors and Clinical Sub Deans in relation to undergraduate teaching.
5. Act as first point of contact for any face to face or telephone enquiries.
6. Attendance at regional and national meeting as necessary.
7. Participation in annual monitoring visits by the medical schools.
8. Update and maintain databases.
9. Scanning and saving electronic documents.
10. Analysing and reporting evaluation data.
11. Ensuring training rooms are set up and closed down at start and end of the day.
12. Creating student daily registers.
13. Undertake any duties in accordance with the grade and nature of the post as required by the medical undergraduate administrators.
14. Assist with post graduate duties when required as part of the wider medical education team.
15. Participate in all learning activities as agreed with learning provider and line manager to complete business administration level 3 apprenticeship.
