Millstream Underwriting are seeking to hire an driven and analytical Underwriting Assistant to join our growing Accident & Health team in London. The successful Underwriting Assistant will supporting the underwriting team in writing business for the company.

The successful Underwriting Assistant will work alongside Accident & Heath Underwriters and management team to support the administration requirements of the team, with a particular focus on current underwriting agreement in the particular class of business.This role will be assisting with various projects, schemes and reviews, both internally within Nexus and externally with our broker and underwriter partners, as well as supporting the development and further growth of a market leading Accident & Health team.

**About the role**

Assisting with the administration / processing of Nexus Accident & Health business:

- Reviewing underwriting submissions and logging risks onto our underwriting system
- Entering new quotes
- Processing declinatures and bound risks
- Sending renewal reminders
- Maintaining underwriting files etc.
- Assisting with credit control and finance and helping to chase down aged debt
- Entering premium credit risks
- Regular reporting tasks, including performance data band dashboards, as well as collating MI data
- Assisting with audits

**About you**
- Ideally educated to an undergraduate degree, but as a minimum A Levels with strong results in English and Mathematics or QCF Level 3 and/or equivalent qualification
- Prior industry experience in any discipline / function is an advantage
- Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mind-set
- Ability to build trust by operating with integrity and professionalism
- Enthusiastic and hardworking individual with a focus of providing the best possible service
- Adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks within a high pressured environment, including working to tight deadlines
- High attention to detail in producing a quality output, accurate record keeping
- IT literate, must have good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages
