A rare opportunity has arisen for a full-time Assistant Psychologist within the Buckinghamshire Primary Care Mental Health Hubs (PCMH hubs).
The Bucks PCMH hubs have been designed to bridge the gap between primary and secondary mental health services. The hubs are staffed by an interdisciplinary team of colleagues from across mental health services, voluntary and community sectors. A range of different interventions are provided by the service.
As an Assistant Psychologist within the PCMH hubs you will play a key role in providing holistic, trauma-informed care to people with serious mental health conditions. You must be organised, self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills.
The team covers Buckinghamshire (excluding Milton Keynes), so you will need to be able to travel for work purposes.
**As an Assistant Psychologist**:
You will be responsible for collecting and reporting outcome data, and for managing Excel spreadsheets and other databases - therefore, you must have excellent Excel and database skills.
You will be responsible for carrying out triage and assessments, under the supervision of qualified staff.
You will be responsible for carrying out guided-self help and psychoeducation interventions, under the supervision of qualified staff.
You will be responsible for co-facilitating psychological therapy groups together with qualified staff, as well as evaluating and auditing these
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the design of resources and training, as well as service improvement projects.

This role will support and enhance the psychological care of clients for adults (18+) as part of the Community Mental Health Framework locality based hubs in Buckinghamshire.
These hubs provide a range of accessible psychosocial support services to those with mental health issues to live well and thrive in their communities. The Bucks PCMHH offers multi-disciplinary input from a range of support services to ensure clients do not fall down gaps between services and have easy entry in and out as and when they need interventions.
The post holder will provide, under the supervision of qualified professional psychologist, evidence based psychological interventions.
You will work independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the service policies and procedures including delivering some group based interventions in different locations across Buckinghamshire. Psychology Assistants work is managed and supervised weekly.
Working individually with clients in primary care settings, client’s homes, and other locations, the group work may involve working with clients in community venues. The work sometimes involves working with clients in emotionally charged or hostile situations and working with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and you should be committed to equal opportunities.
