Production Supervisor

**The Position: Production Supervisor**

To provide comprehensive and pro-active management and leadership, ensuring the delivery of production targets, ensuring we delight customer quality expectations whilst ensuring food hygiene, cost parameters and legal obligations are met.

This position is a key member of the team, supporting and reporting to the Production Shift Manager. This position is accountable for modeling Bama’s values and foundational principles.

**Essential Job Functions/ Skills**:

- Ensuring full compliance and adherence to all Health and Safety and Food Safety requirements by all Team Members within the department
- Setting up and running the designated line/s following the weekly plan, ensuring that all plant is running to a cost-effective standard
- Diagnose and resolve operating problems as and when necessary
- Thorough understanding of internal specifications and communicate to the department ensuring that the product is consistently manufactured to internal specification requirements
- Carry out stock takes
- Accurately and legibly complete all documentation associated with the role, ensure all documentation completed has complied with the necessary internal auditing checks. Recording, reporting and taking action on any out of specification results.
- Responsible for ensuring that all production is produced to the correct specification and quality, and that it is always produced safely and legally
- Requesting non-conformance concession where necessary
- Controlling labour to ensure the numbers and skills are correct for the department and for the product being manufactured, ensuring that no Team Member works more than 60 hours per week. Request temporary agency workers when required.
- Schedule rest breaks for Team Members, monitor time keeping and attendance, fully investigate any incidents and support with disciplinary procedures
- Ensuring Team Members are fully trained to the requirements of their role
- Ensure all Team Members adhere to personal hygiene policies
- Robustly ensure that GMP standards and clean as you go polices are always adhered to
- Monitor and control waste levels
- Regularly review and update department/line SOP’s
- Understand financial status of the department, including an awareness of cost of materials and labour
- Ensure department is always audit ready
- Provide cover in the absence of the Production Shift Manager

**Shift Pattern**:
Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm

**Required Experience**:

- Supervisory experience is desired.
- Experience of working in a food production environment, achieving and maintaining customer requirements and Health and Safety standards will be essential.
