**Position**:
We are currently seeking an apprentice air & ocean freight operator to join the team based in Stoke-On-Trent.

The main purpose of the role is to deliver effective and efficient air & ocean freight services to our customer base.

**Main Duties**
- Assist the department to deliver services efficiently and effectively.
- Air and Ocean shipment bookings and input into Azyra
- Complete job files from start to finish.
- Negotiate rates with Airlines and Shipping lines, maximising profitability by obtaining best prices whilst maintaining good service levels.
- Complete Airfreight post flights and obtain PODs for customers on request.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
- Maximise profitability on shipments.
- Cutting Airway bills and Shipping bills of landing, completing customs NES entries whilst maintaining HMRC compliance
- Prepare quotations for all types of freight requirements, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Correspond with overseas agents to obtain best prices and services.
- Keeping customers informed with the status of their shipments.
- Administration and invoicing.
- Collating documentation for customs clearance.

**Hours of Work**

Monday to Friday

09:00 till 17:30

1 hour lunch break

**Requirements**:

- Experience of working within a customer service or administrative role.
- Experience working in a logistics role is desirable but not essential.
- Pass Grade in GCSE English & Maths or Equivalent.
- Computer literate and able to learn how to use new systems effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
- Confident using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Good attention to detail when handling data.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload.
