A great opportunity has become available for a reliable and skilled **Deputy Resource Controller**to join a regional company recognised for developing and training its staff to succeed in their roles based in **Portsmouth.** You will join them on a **full-time, permanent** basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of **£21,500 per annum.**
The company is an expanding construction and maintenance company focused on delivering exceptional service to its clients and customers across the south of England.
Their Portsmouth City Council maintenance contract looks after 8,000 homes and 718 council buildings and they have been proud to have been partnering with the Council for the past 12 years.
**About the role**:
As the **Deputy Resource Controller,** you will be working in a call centre environment with other Resource Controllers supporting the allocating of Operatives, Sub-Contractors and Materials Service to Portsmouth City Council’s (PCC) Housingand Corporate Assets repairs. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Resource Controllers in the scheduling of appointments and planning of future jobs at the appointment time requested by the customer. You will also provide cover for the ResourceControllers in periods of absence such as holidays and sickness.

**Key responsibilities as theDeputy Resource Controllerwill include**:
- Working closely with the other Resource Controllers to ensure efficient and effective resourcing of repair appointments and materials deliveries
- Supporting the scheduling of repair appointments based on Operatives skills, availability and locality to the jobs ensuring the company meet the appointment times requested and keep travel time and idle time to a minimum
- Assisting the Resource Controllers to plan ahead for future appointments, be aware of any issues that could prevent you from meeting the appointments raising any concerns with the Resource Controller
- Providing cover for all Resource Controllers in periods of absence such as leave, sickness, meetings, training, and improvement initiatives
- Monitoring the job management system screens to ensure when a job requires you to act you take action, or if uncertain pull on the Resource Controller for assistance
- Ensuring you understand the end to end process of delivering the perfect repair for the customer and your key responsibilities in achieving this as well as understanding key responsibilities of others in that process
- Ensuring issues or concerns affecting great customer service are captured and feedback to the Lead Resource Controller to ensure it gets acted upon and resolved
- Assisting with capturing key management data to understand service performance, highlighting any issues or trends and areas of improvement, feeding this back to the management team to act on
- Being responsible for your own Health & Safety and are expected to work with the Company and your line manger to ensure safety guidelines are followed and adhered
**What the company are looking for in theirDeputy Resource Controller**:
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance trades and the tasks/activities that can be undertaken be each trade group (Desirable)
- Understanding of the Geographical Portsmouth City area (Desirable).
- GCSE or equivalent grade C or above in Maths and English
- Worked in an operational / logístical resourcing role (Desirable)
- 2 years’ experience working in an Operations Centre of a Building Maintenance Contract (Desirable)
- Comfortable in a dynamic and evolving environment demonstrating a level head to the team and enjoy the challenge
- Able to communicate with the workforce and be able to remain professional even when issues are contentious
- Able to organize and prioritize jobs to meet appointments times
- Have good computer skills in MS Office and be comfortable in using job management systems
