You will be a technically minded individual, able to repair faulty equipment and suggest solutions to mitigate damage. You should be thorough and analytical in your work, ensuring the best outcome for the students on the service, and keeping a good track of your work and equipment.

You will be an integral part of the Sensory and Physical Teaching Service. Our VI, HI and PD teams work with children and young people (aged 0-25) in a range of settings, and you will work alongside the Teachers for VI, HI and PD

In a typical day the postholder might issue and set up specialist equipment for pupils, liaise with school IT staff, and trouble shoot faulty equipment. Then return to the office to maintain stock control and records and assist staff with IT problems. The post holder would also maintain a data base of curriculum, teaching and training resources to ensure that staff can easily access what is required. Full training and support will be provided

You will be responsible for managing a range of assistive equipment and software needed for children to access the curriculum and providing training in their use to students, staff, and parents. This equipment and technology will vary from case to case, and you will need to be prepared for a wide range of circumstances. You will work with Radio Aid systems for hearing aids, a variety of hearing aids and cochlear implants, electronic Braille devices, VR visual aids, iPads, PC’s and more. You will be a key point of liaison with manufacturers, keeping up to date with new technology and building working relationships with companies and others in the industry.

This post is a peripatetic post as the Service supports Children and Young people across the East Riding. The post holder will travel to different locations across East Riding to carry out their duties. A mileage allowance is payable.
