Point to Point Services is a CQC rated 'GOOD' independent ambulance company based in Leominster, Herefordshire. We provide patient transport and high dependency ambulance journeys to NHS trusts and private individuals throughout the west midlands and wales.

**Job description**

Point to Point Services are looking to recruit a number of full time, part time and bank ambulance care assistants to join our team. Hours available range from 11 hours per week to 42 hours per week from our new south wales base covering the south east and mid Wales.

We are also particularly interested to speak with applicants who have flexible availability Monday to Friday for bank / adhoc work.

The successful applicants will be responsible for providing care for our patients during their time with us whilst undertaking journeys from hospital to home, home to hospital or for inter hospital transfers. Your role will be a split between driving our non emergency ambulances and providing care and support to our patients during their time with us.

All applicants must be able to attend our paid induction course, where all training for the role will be provided. In addition, following an initial telephone interview successful applicants will be requested to attend a one day 'assessment' day which will include a face to face interview. Further details will be provided to all applicants.

**_Please ensure you meet the minimum required qualifications specified below. We are unable to accept applicants who do not hold a full UK driving license or have more than 3 penalty points._**

**Minimum Qualification / Experience**
- A Full UK (manual) driving license held for over 1 year with less than 3 penalty points
- Great communication skills
- Positive 'can do' attitude
- Experience in a customer / patient facing role
- Flexible approach to work
- Able to handle sensitive situations
- Good organisation skills
- Physically fit & able to lift / carry patients and equipment (training provided)
- Reliable & trust worthy
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts, including days and nights, sometimes at short notice
- Have a good understanding of the local area (50 mile radius)
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced disclosure and barring check

**DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE**
- Recent experience (within last 2 years) of a patient caring role
- 3 Day first aid work qualification
- FREC3 / FPOSi / equivalent qualification
- Previous ambulance / medical experience (paid or voluntary within the last 2 years)
- Advanced Driving Qualifications
- C1 driving entitlement

Successful applicants must be able to attend an introduction to Patient Transport Services, a driving assessment and an induction session. Following this there will be a range of online training sessions prior to commencing the role.

**Salary**: £10.50-£12.50 per hour
