**JOB ROLE PROFILE AND PERSON SPECIFICATION**

Post Title: Box Office Assistant

**Purpose of the Role**:

- To provide excellent customer service and act as a central point of contact for all users and visitors of Millfield Theatre during their visit.
- To sell tickets for Millfield Theatre, The Dugdale Centre and activities for other partners using the venues computerised Box Office system.
- To provide a good quality of customer service and project a positive image of the venue to the public
- The Box Office Assistant is responsible along with colleagues for ensuring an excellent and safe experience for Millfield Theatre's customers.

**Job Duties**
- To meet and greet customers as first point of contact both face to face and by telephone
- Selling tickets, and taking reservations for shows, events and classes and workshops through the computerised Box Office system
- Providing information about events at the venue, and for other events that Millfied Arts Centre/The Dugdale Centre may be selling tickets for.
- To maintain a working box office (including the online booking facility) and to contact appropriate companies in the case of software/hardware problems.
- To ensure that ticket reservations are paid for in the required number of days.
- To work closely with the different agencies Millfield Arts Centre contracts to aid in the sale of tickets and ensure these tickets are correctly and methodically allocated on the computerised Box Office system
- To manage computer software housekeeping to ensure non duplication of records and safeguard the privacy of customers, and work within the parameters of the Data Protection Act.
- Liaise with Customer Services, Systems and Building Manager with regards to reporting faults, refuge collection and other services.
- To co-ordinate the services required to deal with an emergency.
- Any other duties reasonably requested by management
- Carry out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council’s Policies and Procedures

**Job Specifics - Skills, Experience and Competencies**

**Desirable**
- Experience in a front of house and/or customer service role
- Experience with IT system Spektrix - training will be provided
- Experience of working in a busy environment
- Demonstrable commitment to an inclusive approach to customer care
- Passion for culture and its role in individual and community well-being
- Positive, friendly and proactive

**Other Special Requirements**

Will require a flexible working pattern including regular evening and weekend shifts

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 - 35 per week

**Salary**: £11.20 per hour
