We’re currently looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic **Production Operative **to join us at our site in **Newport**. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills whilst beginning your future in our Marshalls family.

**So, what's the role about?**
You'll mainly work within the Concrete Block Paving department, operating press machinery, hand-powered tools, shot blast machinery, and mobile plant such as Forklift trucks to move stock around the site. You’ll learn all about manufacturing techniques, processes, safety, quality waste, and OEE too.

Working as part of a skilled team to manufacture high-quality concrete products using the best technology and techniques, you’ll put health and safety at the heart of everything you do

This position will be based on the following three-shift system (with an extra 2.75 hours 1 day in the week for improvement work and training);
- Days (Mon - Fri) 5:45am - 14:00pm
- Afternoons (Mon - Fri) 13:45pm - 22:00pm
- Nights (Mon - Fri) 21:45pm - 6:00am

You will work 43 hours per week and we require you to be flexible with regards to the shift pattern and overtime, as requirements may change during your contract.

Don’t worry if you’ve not worked in our industry before, we can teach you everything there is to know about Manufacturing. All we ask is that you have a positive ‘can do’ outlook, be a good communicator, and have the willingness to learn

**What are the skills required?**
- Experience working in a Production/Manufacturing environment is preferred but not essential
- Good group working spirit
- Basic computer user experience will be required
- Current accredited FLT licence (preferred but not essential)
- The flexibility of shift rotation or nightshift experience will be required
- Safe to Supervise or IOSH qualification would be advantageous but not essential
