**Fleet Maintenance Manager**
**Reporting to the Head of Fleet & Engineering**
**Purpose of Position**
The role is to Manage all maintenance and associated activities at ourTamworth Office,
Manage against tight timelines and budget controls, communicating with all support partners to deliver agreed service level agreements and KPI’s.
Ensuring that preventative measures are in place keeping our fleet in the best possible order, whilst ensuring regulatory maintenance compliance standards are delivered meeting internal and external best practices and standards
**Key Tasks/ Areas of Responsibility**:
- Manage the maintenance team: positive impact of cost and VOR daily escalating delays through to the relevant service providers
- Provide an efficient and high-quality support function to all stakeholders and the rest of the fleet team with regards to all engineering/fleet disciplines
- Providing technical guidance, support to the Fleet support team staff, depot staff and third part support functions
- Manage maintenance and repair costs in line with agreed levels
- Analyse VOR trends & data making recommendations ensuring positive reduction in downtime
- Produce clear & accurate VOR & maintenance KPI’s
- Monitor/challenge all non-contract maintenance costs to ensure all repairs are carried out in a cost-effective manner with minimum downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance cost are authorised pre/post with clear processes for support partners to follow.
- Manage and ensure PO numbers are raised in good time and correct process followed
- Deliver all manufacturers recoverable costs due to downtime is processed to PL accounts
- Damage cost: communicated in line with insurance procedure.
- Maintaining key performance indicators for Tyre checks, preventative maintenance, and scheduled service matters. Supplier Management & Fleet Compliance
- Responsible for the warranty process and task manage a portfolio of warranty claim reductions, maximise warranty credits through effective use of the company warranty programme
- Improve environmental impact through, improved tyre, maintenance and recycling controls of parts and monitor the impact Review and audit maintenance inspection records to ensure fleet remain compliant
- Pro-actively manage any recall programmes identified based on recommendations to improve fleet efficiency and utilisation
- Manage and report on the performance of service providers
- Assist with audits and ensuring fleet accreditations is maintained
- Working closely with other team Managers to develop strategies for improved cost efficiency and Fleet downtime
- Ensure suppliers are updated with changes to ensure correct invoicing and cost allocation and work with stakeholders to resolve any invoicing or payment issues.
**Required Experience**:
- Ability to demonstrate a significant improvement in service, cost, quality, and compliance, with a proven commercial awareness
- Experienced and qualified Vehicle Technician within the LGV industry
- Experience of working to targets & KPI’s
- Strong working knowledge with costings control via third party support functions.
- Experienced approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and keeping a cool head under pressure
- Familiar working with Fleet MI systems
- Ability to manage a small team, prioritising tasks and delivering agreed outputs
- Lead by example, with a 'can do’ approach with a fast-moving environment.
**Skills and Education Required**
- Engineering/technician qualification, technical background with a formal qualification to level 3 or equivalent
- Strong technical ability, with a good understanding of Fleet repair cost and negotiation skills
- Able to manage deadlines and liaise with the operational and senior management team
- Good understanding of parts and labour analysis
- High standard of communication skills, both verbally and written. Ability to communicate, accurately, diplomatically, and convincingly at all levels both internally and externally.
- High level of computer literate with level MS Word, Excel and Power Point as well as warehouse and transport management systems
