We are looking for a **Health & Safety** **Assistant** to join us at our Daventry 535 site supporting our customer the NHS

You’ll help support all thing’s health and safety, quality and environmental at site and help push our road to zero campaign. We’re looking for someone with either a H&S Admin or Assistant level background.

You will join us on a **12 month fixed term contract**, primarily working Monday to Friday.

**Pay, benefits and more**:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to **£32,000** per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.

**What you’ll do on a typical day**:

- Monitor on-site health and safety through the use of effective internal audits, risk assessments and regular training
- Operating as part of a team responsible for the upkeep of all aspects of health & safety across site, working closely with the Operational Teams and site management
- Ensuring all communications, reports and processes are completed accurately, with a fine attention to detail and within the timescales permitted
- Documentation to be filed and kept in an orderly and logical manner in line with the GXO Health & Safety Management system (HSMS)
- Ensuring review dates are communicated and achieved for all processes that are timebound
- Develop and support the site’s health and safety strategy, consistently identifying opportunities and ideas for improvement

**What you need to succeed at GXO**:

- IOSH General Certificate (desirable)
- Previous experience within working within either a H&S Admin or Assistant role
- Exposure to accident investigation
- Microsoft IT skills / Excel / PowerPoint / Word
