Tripod Is delighted to be partnering with Trafford Council in their endeavour to grow their already great Team of Social Care professionals. In Trafford they are ambitious for their children and practitioners alike. They strive for all children and familiesto benefit from high quality and purposeful relationships with professionals. It is their belief that this will help create the best opportunities to empower change. It is their vision that at all levels, their interventions make life better for children andfamilies and that at the core of their values, they maintain the question of 'would this be good enough for my child'?Trafford also believes that one of the most effective ways to improve the outcomes for children and families is through providing their practitionersand managers with the best conditions in which they can thrive.Cared for Children and Care Experienced Young peopleTrafford is bringing together our Aftercare service and our Permanence service to create a 'through care' approach dedicated to children andyoung people who have a permanence plan who then make that transition to being a care experienced young person. Can you offer the care and support a child needs coming out of care proceedings, needing to have that sense of belonging and stability? Do have the experience to recognise and work with those have hiddenhurt or trauma, pull partners around the child and carer and make the difference that will provide a network of support and guidance? If so this service is for you.About the RoleAs a Social worker you will be required to. Provide an efficient and effectiveservice to children in need of support and their families at the right time. Apply here https://opportunities/trafford-council/social-worker/Trafford's Commitment to youInductionprogrammeThey believe that when you come to work within Children's Services in Trafford, they have a responsibility to you to provide you with the right tools to undertake the role you are appointed to. And have recently updated our induction programme fornew colleagues joining them at all levels.During your first few weeks there will be protected time for you to access the areas that we have identified as being helpful, and you will have an opportunity to add to that as you continue your development and getto know more about the service areas.WorkloadThey are committed to ensuring that your workload is manageable. This isn't necessarily a specific caseload number, as we all know that numbers don't always reflect the complexity of the children and families youare working with. Manageable workloads are therefore critical, and managers will support you with this and confirm priorities through discussion and supervision. They have performance management reporting of caseloads and therefore at all levels we are responsiblefor monitoring this across the service. There will be times where there is a level of flexibility required to meet the needs of the service or for individual children you work with, particularly in times of crisis. They commit to ensuring that you are ableto take additional hours back quickly to give you balance between your work and home life.SupervisionOne of their practice-led improvements has been to refresh our supervision framework, which has been a really exciting piece of work. They commit to offeringmonthly formal supervision that is both reflective and supportive and provides you with clear advice, guidance and direction. They will also be implementing monthly peer supervision as part of our refreshed framework, and practitioners will have a role indeciding the topics of discussion. Working with Strengthening PracticeIn September 2021 Trafford began working with our relational practice partners. Strengthening Practice, who will work alongside them for a minimum of three years. This will play a criticalrole helping them all to improve their quality of practice via an ongoing series of discussion-based workshops, building on our existing restorative approach. Strengthening Practice will deliver a programme of 'core skills' to the workforce and will also workat all levels on building relationships and helping us to unblock any culture barriers to improvement and learning.
