Senior Content Producer

We’re looking for a truly digital Senior Content Producer with excellent editorial instincts and strong creative and team leadership skills to work in a job share (three days, Wednesday to Friday).

The BBC’s Digital Portfolio team sits at the heart of the BBC, online. Based at BBC North in Salford, we connect our audiences with the BBC's content on desktop, mobile, tablet, Red Button and Connected TV services.

We produce the bbc.co.uk Homepage, trusted by 8m people a week to take them to the best of the BBC.

Main Responsibilities

They will assist in planning and delivering new features and services, and building and maintaining relationships with colleagues across the BBC.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- To produce and originate distinctive multiplatform content.
- To work effectively with other departments, suppliers & partners (internal & external) ensuring the BBC maintains excellent relationships throughout.
- Lead, motivate and support a team, ensuring that the editorial vision is communicated and understood from planning through to delivery.
- Construction of a full production schedule and budget in conjunction with Production Management and others.
- To ensure content reflects our diverse audiences.
- Deputising where appropriate for senior team members and contributing towards the team strategy.
- To keep up to date with emerging industry trends.
- Where relevant, liaise with Rights teams and contract negotiators and ensure copyright and contracts adhere to BBC regulations.
- Develop and manage positive working relationships with staff, contributors and talent and be able to give constructive feedback.

You’ll have a strong track record of leading teams promoting content on the homepage of a news, entertainment or sports media company. You’ll show an up-to-date understanding of digital media audiences and their media interests and consumption. You’ll bring excellent editorial and technical judgement, alongside demonstrable editorial and creative flair. You will have strong writing, subbing and picture editing skills and an appreciation of the BBC’s high editorial standards and values.

Supplementing this will be your proven experience of meeting both operational and editorial demands. You’ll also show experience of identifying and responding appropriately to editorial and legal issues and managing and recording their timely and satisfactory resolution.
