We are looking for a creative, editorially
- experienced, well-organised and highly motivated **Senior** **Content Producer** to manage and lead our CBeebies and CBBC website team. The websites cater for kids ages 2-12 and are a key destination for them to interact and play with their favourite brands. You will have a crucial role to play to ensure our offer is of the highest quality and gives our young audience a best-in-class experience.
You will be part of the wider Digital Media, Platforms and Planning team responsible for developing and delivering entertaining and informative content for the BBC digital portfolio including, games, apps, websites, YouTube and social. The key objective is to ensure the BBC remains relevant and connected to younger audiences, helping them discover the breadth of what the BBC delivers, from our interactive and digital experiences to our well-loved programmes and franchises.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Content Editor, you will be the day-to-day lead for the Children’s websites. You will play a key role in shaping our website strategy based on data, audience needs, latest trends and wider department priorities. Reporting back to senior stakeholders on performance, you will also be making recommendations for future content ideas, digital commissions, and new untapped opportunities.
You will be tasked with ensuring that our online offer achieve the highest editorial and creative standards and deliver to the strategy on time and within budget. You will actively manage a talented team of producers who make, acquire, and publish a regular stream of content on the websites.
You will take the lead on forward planning of events and content releases on the websites across the year, making sure our biggest brands and key launches are well supported with highly engaging, fun, and relevant content for our audience.
You will need to foster close relationships with a wide range of teams and stakeholders, including programme executives and independent content makers as well as promotional, scheduling, technical and the wider digital platforms teams.
You will also have opportunities to develop a broad set of skills, for yourself and others within the team, encouraging innovation and pioneering more integrated ways of working across different media.
We are looking for someone with experience managing a digital portfolio of amazing content with a proven record of success. You’ll need an excellent editorial eye for digital experiences aimed at younger audiences (0-12) and have a passion for entertaining and informing them with innovative online interactive content.
You’ll have experience managing a diverse multi-disciplined team of content creators, with the ability to inspire and motivate them and lead by example.
You’ll bring experience devising and implementing strategic content ideas to drive reach and retention and help shape the future of our websites and its relationship with broadcasting in a fragmented and highly competitive digital landscape.
You’ll have first class interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels. You’ll also need to use initiative and have a flexible and positive attitude.
You’ll be keenly interested in innovations in digital and the changing habits of this generation of children. You understand the importance data and insight play in informing decision-making, and you’ll inspire an inquisitive culture of learning about our audience to ensure our output, and the BBC, stays connected and relevant to their lives.
