This partnership with Waitrose is a key strategic priority for Wincanton and allows us to bring together our substantial capabilities in Food Logistics, Home Delivery, Customer Experience and Online Fulfilment. You will be part of the people team and play a critical role in sourcing and selecting the best and most appropriate talent to make the operation successful. You will work closely with the operations teams providing pragmatic, commercial and employee-focused advice and support managers as well as several support functions. You will utilise your excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills to drive employee engagement and manage change, ensuring that we retain motivated teams of employees who can deliver an excellent service to our customers.

**How will you contribute?**:
- Advise on the most appropriate attraction channels and local routes to market
- Conduct screening interviews and short-list applicants
- Handle resourcing queries in a proactive and engaging way to enhance our employment brand
- Support with onboarding and induction requirements including face delivery of training
- Implement management development programs, and trainings that are targeted at empowering managers to positively and effectively manage their teams.
- Promote best practices to foster collaboration across the departments, strengthen work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Manage full-cycle talent attraction and retention efforts.
- Manage day-to-day people operations and be the first point of contact for people-related questions and resolving any issues. You’ll also ensure we’re evolving our people operations capability, from creating more self-serve opportunities to leveraging tooling to drive efficiency, whilst always retaining a people-first approach
- Partner closely with the People Partner and other leads across the business on key strategic projects, including how we build a high-performance culture & define career progression to how we develop our hybrid ways of working
- Support and partner closely with managers to help them be their best selves. You’ll support them on all things people including their team growth plans, career development, compensation, and any employee relations.
- Assisting with all HR matters relating to the full employee lifecycle, including but not limited to offer letters and contracts of employment, probation periods, employment changes, maternity/paternity/shared parental leave, references, and leavers.
- Implementing new systems and initiatives (e.g. L&D, D&I etc)
- Develop and maintain legal compliance programs and drive resolutions for complex employee issues.
- Maintaining/updating employee records on the HR System and relevant databases, including Payroll, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data.
- Support with special HR projects including employee wellbeing and diversity & inclusion policies.
- Positive, can-do attitude, willing and able to adjust to multiple demands and demonstrating a high level of flexibility
- A confident and charismatic personality with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Genuine team player approach
**What will you bring?**:
- Experience working in an HR and administrative role
- Really strong MS Office - Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Exposure to HR Systems - Oracle / Kronos preferred
- To be happy to work as part of a team, sharing knowledge and experience.
- To be flexible and meet the needs of the Centre and operation
- To have passion about delivering great customer service.
- An understanding of HR policies and practices
- Proactive approach to own continuous development
- Experience of implementing processes
- The ability to act on own initiative

- Excellent communication skills with experience of customer relationship management
