**Job summary**:
**Responsibilities**:

- You will exhibit courtesy and respect to residents at all times, working closely with management and other members of staff to ensure a peaceful, tidy and safe environment is maintained.
- You will exercise good time management, ensuring all duties are completed in a timely manner.
- Undertake handypersons duties as directed such as: painting and decorating, joinery, plumbing, internal glazing.
- Ensure heating plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively operated, making adjustments as necessary.
- Clean light fittings and to test lighting systems weekly
- replacing where necessary, minor parts such as tubes, bulbs, fuse starters and diffusers.
- Ensure that gullies and drains etc. are kept free from debris and that the grounds are litter free.
- Undertake porterage tasks as required
- including setting up and clearing away furniture.
- To clean the internal face of external windows and other internal glass within the limitations of safe working practice.
- To monitor stock levels of consumable items such as fuel, grit, light bulbs/tubes etc. and arrange to replenish supplies in accordance with current procedures.
- To maintain appropriate records including quality assurance and maintenance record logbook.
- To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety, other relevant legislation and Home policies, carry out weekly fire alarm tests and assist with evacuation procedures.
- Adhering to professional standards, following Company policies and procedures and the regulatory requirements provided by the care quality commissioning group.
**Required skills**:

- Good communication skills, with elderly residents, visitors and other members of staff.
- You will be reliable, dependable and a team player who is willing to help others.
- You must have exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience in maintenance work is welcome, but training will be provided.
- You will have the ability to solve problems and take initiative.
- A positive, can-do attitude is essential.

COVID-19 considerations:
Staff are tested for COVID-19 weekly, and are required to wear PPE throughout the home. Additionally, the COVID-19 vaccination is a legal requirement for all staff in care homes.

- Gerrards Cross, SL9 8JA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
