We have started major works to the Anglia route to improve our passengers experience through upgrades to major stations, enhancements to the network and introducing a new fleet of trains. These improvements mean we are looking for a Sponsor to be responsible for the development and implementation of a portfolio of projects, funded by government, customers and other stakeholders.

**Brief Description**:
You will be key in leading the development and delivery, acting as the accountable lead for us and working alongside project delivery teams in driving successful outcomes for passengers, freight and our customers and stakeholders. Without you, the project outputs cannot become a reality. Your previous experience of fast paced environments, driving success in complex situations and working with stakeholders will put you in good stead to lead in the successful delivery of improvements to the railway network in Anglia.

**Day to day, you can expect to be involved in**:

- Lead the conversion of the client's vision into an agreed instruction to include developing the initial project plan and budget; working with wider teams to specify how the project is going to be delivered, associated timescales, resource requirements, risks & issues and funding sources.
- Devise solutions which maintain accessibility for our customers, taking consideration of the 7-day railway principles and therefore minimising disruption to end rail users. Take a national/ route wide view across portfolios to generate additional benefits, identify and resolve conflicting work and drive efficiencies.
- Be responsible for quantifying risk, devising mitigating actions and periodically review recovery progress.
- Interrogate and challenge plans to assess the deliverability of agreed scope within stated timescales and cost parameters, presenting any required scope changes to the client for approval.
- Handle changes and updates to the renewals workbank.
- Develop business cases to demonstrate the optimum solution for delivery.
- Provide specific reporting and updates on the complete workbank.
- Support the development of the CP7 workbank and the proposals for that.
- Hold periodic reviews with the project manager accountable for programme delivery to understand and challenge delivery progress against the client remit. Communicate progress status against defined achievements and expectations, even putting contingency measures in place if required.
