**Job description**:
The Workforce & Finance Services team provide an array of services including, supplier, resource and finance management. We have approximately 35 colleagues and we're well positioned at the heart of the very high-profile Borders & Trade programme.

We directly support delivery teams, work with external suppliers, programme boards and other key stakeholders involved in operating Critical National Infrastructure for UK trade borders. Our supplier portfolio is one of the most sophisticated across HMRC and is used to provide two-thirds of our resources.

We’re also heavily involved in financial governance and lead a resource management function for c.1500 resources within Borders & Trade.

Our role sits within HMRC’s Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO) Group that deliver in-house solutions for a number of technical and operational issues. Our digital delivery centres are hi-tech, innovative facilities that allow our teams to improve their capabilities.

**Responsibilities**:
There are over 200 contracts in CDIO, some supporting Critical National Infrastructure.

You will be responsible for managing Tier 3 or Tier 4 contracts ensuring contract obligations are met in line with the Supplier Management Practice principles, standards and processes along with external regulations such as GDPR and support supplier Manager Leads in the management of Tier 1 or Tier 2 contracts as appropriate.

You will work closely with commercial, finance, project delivery colleagues and various suppliers to:

- Act as the routine contact point between the organisation and suppliers. Support resolution of supplier-related incidents, problems, or unsatisfactory performance. Collect and report on supplier performance data.
- Ensure business requirements are collected and reviewed, and where appropriate engage suppliers to impact these requirements
- Ensure supplier performance meets the needs of the business and agree mitigations/ways of working when standards are not being met.

You will be responsible for handling contracts operationally, ensuring obligations are met in the operations space. You will do this by having meetings with your suppliers and key individuals and therefore, it is vital you are passionate about building positive relationships and overcoming hurdles to provide solutions when possible, while understanding when to escalate.

**Essential Criteria**
- Experience in handling a broad range of partners including engaging at a senior level.
- Recent experience of working in a supplier management or commercial environment.
- Knowledge of project/programme financial controls and governance processes.
- Good solid understanding of full range of Office365 software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and MS Teams.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience in handling IT/professional services suppliers.
- Experience in working on project/programme finance and funding approvals.
