Payroll Services Team Leader

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Payroll Department within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). There is a vacancy for a full time AfC band 5 Payroll Services Team Leader based in Companies House, Cardiff. The successful post holders will work as part of a payroll team providing a payroll service to NHS Wales organisations.
This role will entail both home and office working so a reliable home broadband connection will be required.
The main duties will involve the following. Reporting to the Payroll Services Team Manager, the responsibility of the post holder will be to manage and control the day to day work of a Payroll Team including, management of workload; review performance targets; ensure employment documentation is managed within specific timeframes; ensure consistent and accurate output; management of sickness; PADRs; Statutory and Mandatory Training; training of team members; managing and processing of electronic interface files from E packages.
The post holder will require in depth knowledge of HMRC regulations relating to payroll including PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments. Previous experience within the NHS Payroll environment is desirable but not essential. The post holder will have responsibility for running weekly and monthly payrolls ensuring that the appropriate processes have been completed so that employees of NHS Wales receive correct and timely salary payments.
Must be able to demonstrate sound IT knowledge. The applicant will be required to work from home for part of the week, therefore a WiFi/internet connection at home is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
