**Overview of the Role**

To efficiently manage the publishing of video content across multiple platforms, with a particular focus on YouTube, there will also be some responsibilities working with publishing of podcasts and related content

**Main Responsibilities**
- Maintain and grow video audiences by co-ordinating publishing of content across multiple platforms, primarily YouTube but also the New Statesman website and social channels: Twitter, TikTok, Facebook.
- Prepare videos for publishing on YouTube. This includes: creating custom thumbnails; writing and optimising video titles, descriptions and metadata using your knowledge of YouTube SEO best practice.
- Assist with video production in the form of re-versioning, clipping and other basic editing tasks, may also be required to assist on in-house studio shoots.
- Manage the studio calendar, general studio upkeep and organisation of kit.
- Create podcast audiograms for social media and assist the podcast team with SEO and quality control of audio edits.
- Work with the video producers to maintain an efficient publishing pipeline, ensuring all content is published to deadline.
- Work with the audience team to ensure social video publishing happens within agreed schedules and is consistent with house style and best practice.

**About You**
- Some experience in digital publishing or video production.
- Strong understanding of up-to-date YouTube publishing strategies, with experience of growing an audience on the platform.
- Knowledge of best practices for publishing video on social platforms.
- Understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) basics.
- Experience working with WordPress websites beneficial.
- Familiar with Adobe CC software (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Audition)
- Some journalism experience, with a working knowledge of UK media law.
- Knowledge of and passion for politics and current affairs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience writing for news publications desirable.
- Highly organised, able to handle multiple concurrent projects and deliver to deadlines.
- Enthusiastic about video and podcast production, and journalism.
- Keen to learn, with a proactive approach to developing your skills on the job.
- An interest in politics, current affairs, global issues, economics and the ideas that shape the world.
- Ambitious and entrepreneurial, keen to help grow our audience and develop the New Statesman’s multimedia output.
