The Growth Company’s (GC) Education and Skills team is currently hiring for an Inclusion Coordinator to cover both Wigan & St Helens. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the driving force behind tailored support for individuals with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LDD). You’ll manage a dedicated caseload, champion inclusive practices, and provide expert guidance to colleagues, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
Our interview process will include a short task and you will be asked a series of competency based questions on the day of your interview.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage a caseload of learners and/or apprentices with EHCPs/LDD, ensuring accurate records and compliance with internal protocols.
- Coordinate onboarding for learners named in EHCPs, including initial meetings with families/carers and responses to Local Authority consultations.
- Develop high-quality Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that support inclusive teaching and learning.
- Monitor caseload activity weekly using Power BI, reporting academic and pastoral interventions.
- Lead EHCP Annual Reviews and 6-weekly IEP Reviews, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up.
- Deliver and coordinate targeted academic and pastoral interventions aligned with EHCPs or identified needs.
- Support safeguarding actions and multi-agency interventions in collaboration with Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).
- Maintain detailed safeguarding records in Cura, including meeting notes and referrals.
- Refer learners for Exam Access Arrangements where appropriate.
- Ensure provision meets standards set by Ofsted, JCQ, Awarding Organisations, and external audits.
**About You**
- Exceptionally organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A confident communicator who builds strong relationships with learners, colleagues, and external partners.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a flexible approach to problem-solving.
- Calm under pressure and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Committed to safeguarding and confidentiality, with a professional and sensitive approach to complex issues.
- Passionate about inclusive education and removing barriers to learning.
- Embodies the Growth Company’s values: Make a Positive Difference, Stronger Together, Empower People, Do the Right Thing, Build on Success.
**Skills Required**:
- National Award or National Professional Qualification for SEN Coordination (NASENCo/NPQ SENCO), or willingness to work towards it.
- In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the four broad areas of need.
- Experience supporting learners with SEN/LDD, including SEMH and emotionally based non-attendance.
- Proven ability to write IEPs, lead EHCP reviews, and contribute to Looked After Child reviews.
- Skilled in multi-agency working and safeguarding frameworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Management Information Systems, with a strong grasp of audit-ready record keeping.
- Familiarity with JCQ guidelines and Exam Access Arrangements processes.
We are committed to increasing workforce diversity and offer a guaranteed interview to applicants who meet the essential criteria and either have a disability or are from a diverse ethnic community.
Examples include:
- Meeting the hiring manager or touring the venue in advance
- Extra time for tasks
- Interview questions shared beforehand
- Accessibility software or equipment for assessments
GC is committed to fostering a culture of flexibility and agile working. Many roles will increasingly support full agile arrangements. If you require more permanent flexibility, we encourage you to discuss this during your interview so your request can be considered early in the process.
All GC colleagues will work inline with the Health & Safety at work act and the GC Health & Safety Policy.
