**Brief Description**:
To work cross-functionally, negotiating with Work Deliverers and Operations teams to build and optimise the access plan through worksite integration. Manage work priorities against the objectives of the Route to create a safe, robust and effective plan.
**About the role (External)**:
**Your Main Responsibilities will be to**:
1. Manage the integration of all access and Temporary Speed Restriction (TSR) requests, prioritising work to enable business requirements in accordance with all relevant standards.
2. Lead and chair effective area/local planning meetings with all Work Deliverers.
3. Manage effective relationships with TOCs and FOCs, including a detailed understanding of their requirements and access restrictions. Work collaboratively to minimise disruption by balancing safety, performance and TOC / FOC service requirements.
4. Lead and create collaborative relationships with all Works Deliverers for both planned and emergency work, to prioritise safety, performance and efficiency.
5. Manage and control the late change process in line with specified Route policies.
6. Manage planning information for the area. Provide timely and accurate updates to meet planning timescales and carry out appropriate validation checks.
7. Manage the potential impact of both Schedule 4 and Schedule 8 across all options available to deliver work and make proposals accordingly as required.
8. Provide management, direction and support to the planning team, acting as a role model through coaching and mentoring, to develop and enhance team performance.
9. Promote a proactive continuous improvement culture, sharing knowledge and best practice across the industry.
**You will ideally have**:
- Knowledge of relevant train services and network capacity
- Able to integrate worksite requests into possessions and optimise the possession plan
- Able to specify all aspects of worksite and possession parameters
- Able to work under pressure within a continuous planning process
- Able to prioritise and organise workload to ensure that deadlines are met
- Able to evaluate complex factors and make decisions to maximise benefit
- Good communication skills and a customer focussed approach
- Experienced user of Possession Planning System (PPS) and TRUST
- Detailed knowledge of the Network Code and Track Access Conditions
- Knowledge of the isolation planning process
- Able to operate relevant planning systems
- Able to work under pressure within a continuous planning process
- Able to engage with customers and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
- Able to lead a team and motivate team members
