**About the role**

We’ve a great opportunity to become our Assistant Business Continuity & Emergency Planning Advisor to work within our business continuity team to ensure we have the appropriate arrangements in place to deal with difficult situations, so the business can continue to function with as little disruption as possible.

You will be part of a small team and play a key role in planning for emergencies, maintaining plans and procedures, and carrying out emergency exercises and ensuring the business meets it statutory and legal responsibilities under the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).

We’re looking for you to be delivering prompt and efficient responses to requests for support in Emergency Events and Incident, along with ongoing improvements in the robustness of the Company’s Business Continuity and Emergency plans and procedures.

You’ll be supporting the ongoing improvement in our external regulator annual submission for the Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD), along with working with the Local Resilience Fora and other Local Authority Emergency Planning Units to create a good working relationship and ensure that we comply with our requirements under the Civil Contingencies Act.

We’re also looking for you to be working with the business to develop and carry out emergency exercises, to ensure corporate plans are tested.

**About you**

We’re looking for you to have proven experience in Business Continuity and/or Emergency Planning, this may include experience gained in Business Continuity or Emergency Planning departments for example.

You’ll have experience of working with different levels of stakeholders, both internally and externally, to support the business continuity / emergency planning matters and incidents, on a day to day basis, ranging from senior managers to operatives. You’ll ideally have proven knowledge of relevant legislation and the actions that must be taken by the Company during emergency incidents.

We’re looking for you to have great interpersonal skills including good communications skills, both verbal and written, along with great analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to find pragmatic solutions.
