**The Vacancy**

**JOB PURPOSE**:
To maintain and repair the general building fabric in M&S stores as defined in an efficient and
cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- To ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
- To respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary.
- To prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
- To order spares to the laid-down procedures.
- To identify non-repairable issues and promptly advise the Area Maintenance Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable alternatives.
- To advise the store of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the store.
- To manage the attendance of subcontractors and assist M&S Management in the appraisal of subcontractors’ performance.
- To carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
- To complete general repairs and maintenance to M&S store sites as designated by the Operations Manager, e.g. repairs to the building fabric, shelving or point-of -sale signage.
- To assist ISTs in other areas when requested to do so by the Operations Manager.
- To liaise with project teams on store alterations, modernisations and other relevant works.
- To maintain accurate Time Sheets and Mileage Logs as required.
