Healthcare Assistant

A unique vacancy has arisen for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join the Urgent Treatment Centre at Buxton Hospital.
You will undertake various patient clinical procedures in order to assist registered clinicians to deliver agreed pathways as part of the ongoing urgent care agenda.
You will make initial assessment of patients attending the unit and referrals to registered clinician whenever needed
You will provide care and assistance in such a manner that the service users individuality, dignity and privacy are respected where this does not compromise safety
You will deliver an agreed programme of individualised patient care under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner, in the Urgent Care setting, for patients presenting with undifferentiated diagnosis.
You will contribute to the patient’s physical and psychological well-being whilst in our care and to make all necessary reasonable adjustments to enable patients to achieve desired clinical outcomes and to communicate these to facilitate ongoing care.
Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.
