**About the Role**:

- As an Operational Compliance Officer - Substations, you will be required to live within a 1-hour commute of our Northfleet East Substation or our Sellindge Substation as you will support our North Kent or East Kent teams respectively as part of our Southeast region with 41 substations and cable routes spanning Hampshire, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex and Kent. You’ll have the flexibility to work from home for up to 2 day per week dependent on the needs of the business and the requirement to be on site for work delivery and flexibility will be required to travel to Eakring in Nottingham to meet training needs and quarterly national travel to support working group meetings. The Operational Compliance Officer - Substations will provide technical support to the zone acting as single point of contact for lead areas ensuring statutory documentation is in place and ensuring staff are trained and competent to carry out work.**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage all substation statutory documentation across the zone attending site compliance visits
- Administer commercial site vehicle fleet and act as single point of contact for fleet provider
- Act as single point of contact for zonal issues including waste management contract/technical surveys
- Attend zonal working groups as required
- Manage zonal budgets for PPE, tools, training, stationary and commercial vehicle fleet
- Coordinate and deliver all zonal health & safety and compliance actions ensuring timely closure
- Lead on zonal initiatives and/or working groups supporting Health & Wellbeing and Engagement
- Acts as technical secretary for medium level investigations writing reports
- Coordinate zonal training requirements as the single point of contact
- Manage and control substation access requests maintaining control of access key issues and returns
- Manage zonal calibration ensuring all test equipment and tools are compliant with procedures
- Coordinate electrical equipment PAT testing ensuring compliance with statutory requirements

**Essential**:

- A full driving licence that permits you to drive in the UK
- A relevant level 3 qualification or an equivalent recognised apprenticeship
- Notable experience gained from a role where you have supported operational compliance
- Experience of operational administration and reporting
- Competency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

**Desirable**:

- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Relevant Engineering, H&S, Compliance or Planning qualifications
- Experience of training coordination
- Experience of operational workload planning
- Substation experience
- Experience of budget management
- Experience of completing audits and/or inspections
