**Early Years Support Staff - Special Needs Support (Barnet School)**

Are you an experienced and passionate professional looking to make a meaningful difference in the early years of a child’s educational journey? Barnet School is seeking a dedicated **Early Years Support Staff** member to join our team and provide essential support to **Nursery and Reception** students with special educational needs, including those with **Autism** and short attention spans.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support **Nursery and Reception** students with additional needs, helping them to settle into their new school environment and ensuring they feel safe and supported
- Work with students who may show challenging behaviors (e.g., pinching) and use proactive strategies to encourage positive behavior and engagement
- Support **Reception students** to engage in **short bursts of activity**, including carpet time, helping them build attention span and develop the necessary skills to transition smoothly to Year 1
- Foster **independence and confidence** in children, enabling them to thrive in a supportive yet structured environment
- Work in line with the **EYFS framework**, ensuring that students’ development is supported and tracked accurately

**What We’re Looking For**:

- **Experience** working with children with additional needs, including **Autism**, short attention spans, and other learning challenges
- Strong **understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)** setup and framework, with the ability to adapt and deliver appropriate activities
- **Compassionate and patient** approach, able to adapt to the individual needs of each child and provide tailored support
- Someone who can **think on their feet** and adjust quickly to different situations while maintaining a calm, positive attitude
- A team player who works closely with teachers and other staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for all children
- Immediate availability for a **trial period** to start as soon as possible
