ROLE OVERVIEW ProjectDeck has been released in its 'first version’ and we are looking for a new UI/UX designer to work with the product visionary (a board director) to drive the product to its next stage of evolution. The product team managing ProjectDeck consists of a project manager, front-end developer, back-end developer and database engineer. This core team is augmented by other software professionals from our wider team as required. We have a role vacancy for a Lead UI/UX Designer that will join the ProjectDeck product team. This role also acts as the team leader as we operate a strong design-led approach to our SaaS product development. We are looking for an inspirational Lead UI/UX Designer to move ProjectDeck to its next level of functionality and improve both the UI and the UX appeal of the product. We operate a Design System using Figma design software. The Lead UI/UX Designer will adopt managerial ownership of this system to maintain corporate and design control of the software design. RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop the Vision: Work with the ProjectDeck, Project Level Team (PLT) to support the development of the 'product vision’. - Develop Requirements: Support the development of software design requirements. - UX Research: Engage in research with ProjectDeck users to identify further system requirements. - UI Research: Engage in research of other software solutions and products to drive concepts and ideas to be used in ProjectDeck. - User Journey Mapping: Outline the requirements of users and how our product design may meet these requirements. - Wireframing: Progress designs to an outline wireframe level, enabling the wider team to comment on solution options. - Detailed Design: Progress design through outline design into detailed design ready for implementation by our software developers. - Specification: Provide any specification detail required for design implementation, including high level HTML / CSS specifications. - Requirements Documentation: Support (and at times lead) the development of Agile 'User Story’ drafting to describe the development work required to realise designs (sufficient for the development team to estimate). - Design Query Management: Work with the development team to clarify any design / specification queries. - Workshop Facilitation: Take a lead / facilitating role in design workshops required to progress the design process. - Design Acceptance: Verify that the work implemented by the development team meets the design specification. - Software Testing: Support wider team work to test iterations of software prior to implementation in the Production Environment. - Maintain the Design System: Maintain and improve the CappKind software Design System, contained within Figma. - Agile Project Management: Work in a project team that practices DSDM Agile Project Management; working through feasibility, foundation and evolutionary development ("Sprint") processes. - Support Digital Marketing: Assist directors with digital marketing (provided by others). Including creative and process support but also providing practical resources such as design or product screenshots to support marketing outputs.
