**CNC Turner - Setter - Operator**

**Days or Dual shift contracts available**

The X-Cel Group, consisting of X-Cel Superturn and Vector X-Cel and Colson X-Cel are manufacturers of high specification component parts and assemblies, with HQ based in the national hub of engineering expertise - the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) S60 5FS and at Bessemer Way, S60 1FB. We are pleased to release several brand new CNC Machining opportunities for the AMP site, due to growth;
**Current Turner or Lathe Operator opportunities within X-Cel cover Day, Dual or PM shift patterns (please specify if you have a preference)**
**- CNC Turners for smaller complex components**
**- CNC Turners for medium to large complex components**
**- CNC Long bed lathe operators ranging from 2-8m in length (high complexity)**

Required to effectively program, set and operate the lathe in order to produce orders on time and to the required high quality standards.

**Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to**:

- Machining exotic materials e.g. 625,718, using FANUC, Siemens or Heidenhain control systems
- Able to understand complex engineering drawings
- Able to set or modify existing programs
- Use measuring equipment and basic CMM
- Implement minor and suggest major tooling changes
- Suggest process improvements to the engineering department
- Assist and instruct others
- Loading varying size components into the machines competently
- Monitoring long cycle times
- Competent machinist, with experience from a similar role
- NVQ 3 or equivalent in Engineering preferred
- Strong work ethic
- Willingness and ability to follow management directions to achieve results
- Excellent timekeeping & communication skills
- Enthusiasm and desire to learn
- Ability to work alone and part of a team

**Hours & Remuneration**:
Core Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-12:00 (39 hrs per week)

Dual shifts also available (PM shift: Mon-Thurs 16:00-02:30/40 hrs per week)
- Pay rates reflect Day and PM shift
- Regular overtime available, paid weekly

**Salary**: £15.30-£25.77 per hour
