**Job Summary**

The Strategic HR business partner represents a senior, high profile and influential post, which plays an integral role in the facilitation and delivery of excellent standards of healthcare services via the provision of an inclusive People function with theaim of contributing to the delivery of excellent patient services and experiences. Working closely with the triumvirate (Divisional director, Director of operations and Associate director of nursing) and other key managers and individuals, the post holderwill lead on all aspects of work associated with the forward planning, modernisation, engagement, motivation and performance of our people. In addition, at an operational level, they will embed excellent people management and OD practice and standards andincrease people management capability within the organisation.

**Knowledge, Training and Experience Required**

**Essential**:

- Master’s degree or demonstrable equivalent experience working within Human Resources.
- Evidence of CPD demonstrating regular attendance on employment law updates courses and employee relations.
- Demonstrable experience in a Senior Human Resources Officer / Advisor or HR Manager role.
- Experience in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating in-house training, workshops and briefing sessions.
- Experience of working for a large complex organisation and in a changing environment.
- Previous experience of working closely with Trade Unions.
- Well-developed knowledge of current human resources practice and employment law.
- Supervision of staff.
- Significant experience in an operational generalist role, covering a wide range of HR responsibilities to include recruitment, discipline, grievance, organisational change and re-structuring, redundancy and changing terms and conditions of employment andTUPE.
- Ability to analyse workforce data and advise managers on implications in respect of meeting workforce KPIs e.g. sickness absence, appraisal activity and vacancy reports.
- Proven ability to provide a customer orientated service and demonstrated flexibility to meet service needs.
- Able to consistently adopt behaviours that demonstrate a commitment to and understanding of the Trust values to towards everyone who uses or delivers our patient services.
- Thorough understanding of and commitment to Equality, Diversity and inclusion.
- Positive attitude and highly self-motivated and can motivate others.
- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to summarise information and key issues, and draw logical arguments and conclusions.

**Desirable**:

- Full Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.
- Human resources experience within the NHS or within another large public sector organisation that provides transferable knowledge and skills.
- Knowledge of Agenda for Change
- Trained in Agenda for Change Job Matching
- Knowledge of NHS terms and conditions
- Experience of budgets and operating within these and under the trust’s standing financial instructions (available in the intranet’s policies section) at all times
