We’re looking for a talented individual to join us as a **Farm Secretary**, working part-time with potential for full-time hours if you have the relevant bookkeeping skills and experience. This opportunity arises due to an upcoming retirement, and we’re eager to welcome someone who shares our passion for excellence and tradition.

**About Us**:
The Cheape family has proudly managed Strathtyrum Estate since 1782, creating a legacy of heritage and innovation. While the estate’s history dates back to 1125, our family roots in Fife stretch as far back as 1480.

Today, the estate is a vibrant hub of activity, encompassing farming, house rentals, and the renowned **Balgove Larder -**a farm shop, café, butchery, deli kitchen, and steak barn restaurant. Our family-owned business is known for its welcoming and inclusive culture, making it a great place to work and grow.

**The Role**:
As our Farm Secretary, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the estate's operations, providing clerical and administrative assistance to the business owners. This position offers exposure to various aspects of our diverse estate, making it an exciting and dynamic role.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain accurate records for livestock, crops, and stock levels to support future planning
- Assist with farm accounts, budgets, and payroll processing.
- Coordinate vehicle and property maintenance schedules.
- Liaise with agricultural bodies, suppliers, and contractors.
- General administrative duties, including managing correspondence, filing systems, and answering calls.
- Arrange quotes and oversee maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.

**What We’re Looking For**:
We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual who embodies the following qualities:

- **Experience**: Previous experience as a farm secretary is advantageous, but full training will be provided.
- **Skills**: Strong written and verbal communication, numeracy, and IT proficiency.
- **Organisation**: Ability to manage workload effectively, handle confidential matters discreetly, and work independently or collaboratively.
- **Adaptability**: Comfortable liaising with a range of stakeholders and thriving under pressure.

**Work hours**:
