**Site Safety & Security**

Lock/unlock the school premises.

Maintain confidentiality with regard to all school activities and interests.

Carry out regular site safety & security checks, identify risks and report to the Site Manager and carry out corrective actions, as appropriate.

Assist with safety audits of the premises, and with relevant risk assessments as required.

Carry out statutory testing and monitoring of systems such as: fire drills, fire alarms, fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, water safety, plant room equipment & boilers etc. Record findings in an accurate, concise way in accordance with current regulations.

Regularly monitor the condition of the grounds and boundary and report any issues to the Site Manager.

Ensure the grounds and boundary are safe and secure and carry out corrective actions and repairs as necessary.

Adhere to the snow plan, and to preventative maintenance procedures regarding wintery conditions.

Operate and respond to alarm systems and provide emergency access to the premises where required - including out of hours.

Liaise with police, security and surveillance contractors and monitor CCTV and surveillance equipment.

Be available for lettings of the premises outside of school hours with the agreement of the Site Manager and be available for overtime that is required through school bookings.

Be observant for H&S issues and report to the Site Manager or Assistant Caretaker as applicable.

Ensure safe use by self and others of equipment and materials.

Be aware of and comply with all school policies and procedures, in particular those relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality, and data protection; and report all concerns to an appropriate person.

Be fully committed to the School's safeguarding policies and procedures, undertaking regular staff training and reporting concerns as appropriate in accordance with local authority guidelines.

Assist in the on-site management of traffic control during busy periods and events.

**Maintenance Duties**:
Carry out regular inspections of the premises, buildings, fixtures & fittings, and assess for minor works and repairs required to maintain safe and satisfactory conditions.

Assist in the operation of the heating, boiler, water, electrical and lighting systems.

Assist with compulsory weekly/monthly checks to ensure compliance with all current regulation.

Monitor and assist in the electrical testing of portable electrical appliances and maintain the appropriate records.

Carry out minor repairs, decoration or improvement work e.g., erecting shelves, notice boards, bookcases etc. as agreed with the Site Manager/Assistant Caretaker.

Carry out specialist cleaning duties such as graffiti removal and litter picking.

External duties such as clearing gullies, drains and gutters; leaf clearance, emptying bins, sweeping hard areas, and cleaning doors windows and signage.

Any other duties as assigned by the Site Manager that relate to the maintenance of the facilities to acceptable standards.

**Other Responsibilities**:
Where necessary, provide access, escort, liaise with and assist service providers on site.

Portering duties e.g. delivering mail, moving furniture and equipment.

Set up rooms for events & functions such as: exams, parent/teacher events, assemblies and lettings.

Be flexible with shift patterns to cover for colleagues’ absences due to sickness and annual leave.

Be flexible with shift patterns to support the school’s planned maintenance.

Assist with maintaining records, information, and data.

Assist in maintaining a purposeful, orderly, and productive working environment.

Maintain a daily list of issues and tasks to facilitate handovers with other Site Team staff.

Liaise with the school catering contractors regarding the use and maintenance of the kitchen and catering equipment.

Support and contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the School.

Participate in training and other learning activities as required.

Treat all users of the school with courtesy and consideration.

Present a positive personal image, contributing to a welcoming school environment which supports equal opportunities for all.

Ensure the Site Manager is aware of all issues.

Carry out other duties which are reasonably requested by the Site Manager/ Asst Caretaker.
