SJC are currently working in partnership with a highly reputable manufacturing business based in the Greater Manchester area, who are seeking a talented Cost Accountant.
Reporting to the Operational Finance Business Partner. The Cost Accountant will support the day to day reporting and ad-hoc decision support for the site.
You will support the site budgeting and standard cost setting and review processes.
Other duties will include:

- Provide financial support to the Management team by ensuring the timely delivery of accurate financial & KPI information
- Assist budget holders with preparation of forecasts and annual budgets
- Ensure month end processing is completed accurately within deadlines, ensuring all journals are posted into the general ledger
- Reviewing & implementing corrective actions/ new controls where significant variances are identified
- Participate in regular financial performance reviews with site teams and provide input to weekly / monthly / quarterly management meetings based on reported results
- Analysis and understanding of material variances & labour variances on a weekly basis
Having experience in costing and manufacturing accounting is essential.
