**Role**
You are an experienced and professional Front of House in our busy coffee shop. You are organised, have exceptional standards, with a keen eye for detail and your passion for well-presented food and/or tasty coffee shines through. You use your clear and friendly communication style to provide our customers with excellent levels of service.
**How this role fits in the business**
Alongside the Barista, Front of House is critical to the ongoing success of the coffee shop. Setting customers’ first impressions and maintaining a high calibre of customer experience throughout each visit. The Front of House is responsible for maintaining food hygiene standards, leading by example to other members of the team.
**Responsibilities - what you give**
- Starting work at 8am duties included setting up of cakes and preparing the display attractively for open at 8.30am and ready to take orders.
- Taking orders for both coffee and kitchen and following through on orders to a high standard making sure coffee arrives before food and nothing is omitted from the order.
- Greeting all new customers and explaining the set up (order and pay at the till) table management and thanking customers when they leave, a personal touch is paramount at all times.
- Managing orders so that queues are kept to a minimum during busy periods and acknowledging all waiting customers at till point.
- End of day till reconciliation and putting cakes away and preparing cake baskets for next day if defrosting is required.
- Clean and clear tables and reset tables prior and post server starting their shift (fourth member of the team) always be alert and acknowledge new customers throughout the day on arrival, goodbyes too.
- General tidying of shop, making juices if required as you go throughout the day.
- Lunch to be taken when time allows usually after lunch rush and tea and cake available for staff during the afternoon.
- Day ends at 4.30 when doors close, all cakes to be returned to fridge and preparation taken for the day ahead.
- Assist kitchen where required in terms of general tidy up and washing up when required.
- We require a hands-on approach, positive attitude and supporting the team as required to keep the process running smoothly.
- It’s a stylish coffee shop with a chilled vibe, we require someone who is smartly presented at all times, a social and positive can-do attitude with an ability to deal with a confident and wealthy customer base without looking or feeling intimidated by them.
- Role also includes weekly ordering of cakes, stock control and stock rotation.
**Essential**:
- Existing experience in a similar setting
- Non-smoker
**Desirable**:
- Driving licence
