**Production Planner
- 35k**
**A team that all pull together to get the orders out of the door.**
**You know your machined components, either fasteners, valves, flanges, or fittings.**
Sophie takes the order, gives it to Jane who raises the job card, Tom will check it making sure that everything matches up. (Not real names)
Then it’s down to you for the purchasing & Planning.
What grade of steel do you need, where are you going to get it from? Do you need to go back to a supplier and negotiate, because let’s face it negotiation is what you are great at
**As Production Planner you then need to decide**:
- What parts of the process are carried out in house and what needs to be subcontracted?
- What are the machining/manufacturing times?
- When it comes back from the sub-contractor what machine does it go on next? How to plan and co-ordinate the different processes/stages of production to keep the job moving?
You have an understanding of NDE, Machining, Heat Treatment, Testing and Coating so can calculate what those timescales look like.
Here the main day to day is purchasing & planning, but that doesn’t need to necessarily be where you have come from as long as you know your stuff when it comes to metal grades and the process that metal goes through to create that finished product.
If you have knowledge of Test certificate that’s the icing on the cake.
It’s a small office, everyone pulls together, there is no “that’s not my job” here.
Although its busy, lots of orders coming in, it’s a lively working environment, they work together and socialise together here.
The company are part of a larger group so that could open the door to further opportunities too.
**The role is office based 8-4:30pm but you do get a nice early finish of 3pm on a Friday.**
**The holiday allowance is 25 days plus your stats.**
If you are reading this and have all of the experience I have outlined, but your salary expectations are higher, please don’t let that deter you from applying, there is some flexibility if you are someone who can hit the ground running.
