Editor - Ebury (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Do you love great storytelling in books, TV, radio, and podcasts? Love reading across pop culture and entertainment?
We have an exciting opportunity for an Editor to join Ebury, the UK’s largest dedicated publisher of non-fiction, within their Spotlight team for a 6 month contract covering a period of secondment in the team.
**About Ebury Spotlight**
Ebury Spotlight is the home of our entertainment publishing. Our focus is to find the brightest talent and create standout, must-have books of the moment. From autobiography and memoir to television, sport, music and comedy, we are proud to be one of the UK’s most successful teams dedicated to publishing pop culture books for everyone. Our authors include Tom Felton, Molly-Mae Hague, Sue Barker, Tan France, Peter Crouch, Alan Titchmarsh & more
**The Opportunity**
Reporting to the Publishing Director and working closely with the Senior Editorial Director and Commissioning Editor, you will work as part of a collaborative and supportive team, curious and open to new and innovative ideas.
In this role, you’ll be a supportive team member working in tandem with the commissioning team on their projects. You’ll be making sure our books stay on their critical path, updating our systems and collating proofs working on 5-6 books at any one time. You may also be required to get involved in structural editing work, collaborating closely with the team around you.
You’ll also be a main point of contact for our authors, agents and internal stakeholders including marketing, publicity, sales, rights and design so you’ll be an excellent communicator. You’ll also be able to write persuasive cover copy and make convincing verbal pitches, as well as giving matchless author care. You will enjoy working collaboratively within your own team as well as with colleagues across different departments.
This would be an ideal opportunity for progression for an existing Assistant Editor to make the next move in their career, or an established Editor looking to expand their experience on an Entertainment list.
**How to apply**
Interviews will commence from the 15th May onwards and will be conducted on site at our office on Vauxhall Bridge Road, London.
As part of your Cover Letter, we’d like you to respond to the following**:Please write a review (up to 250 words) of a book from our list that you enjoyed, and why.**
**What you can expect from us**:
**Salary**: Circa £32,000 per annum, depending on how your skills and experience align with the role, plus benefits.
PRH is currently experimenting with hybrid working and involving colleagues across the business to shape our future ways of working. The needs of our teams and individuals are different, so we’re not taking a one-size-fits-all approach. For this role, we’ll expect you to work 2 days a week from our Pimlico office in London. The exact balance of office to remote working will depend on the nature of your role and team needs, and we are open to discussing this through the recruitment process.
Our employees are the heart of our business. We have a range of benefits to reflect our commitment to our employees, some of which are:
- 27 days paid holiday entitlement in year one (plus bank holidays), increasing a day each year up to 30 days
- Medical cover
- Life assurance
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Discounted gym membership

**Our creativity is inspired by different perspectives, so we want our culture to be one of belonging, where everyone feels welcome and where differences are celebrated.**
