Ambulance Care Assistant/driver

**FULL TIME MONDAY - FRIDAY AND EVERY 2 SATURDAYS 15:30PM - finish (usually between midnight to 1am)**

PLEASE NOTE;
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE 5 YEARS WORTH OF REFERENCES
YOU MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR HOURS AND DAYS, A MINIMUM OF 45 HOURS PER WEEK
MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH DRIVING SMALL AND LARGE VEHICLES/AMBULANCES
You are required to work either single crew or double crew depending on the needs of the business.
You will be required to assist patients including wheelchair patients to and from the vehicle. (This can be physically demanding). Also helping patients to and from hospital departments.
Maintain daily vehicle records, vehicle mileage and upkeep of the vehicle, reporting any defects immediately.
Some patients may be anxious about their hospital visit and others will lead isolated lives so will value a friendly chat. (You might see the same people on a regular basis and get to know them)
We are looking for more than just experienced drivers. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a warm, positive and people focused attitude and who will go above and beyond to make our patients feel comfortable and cared for.
Training will be provided
- **A full CLEAN UK manual car driving licence with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.**
Disclosure and Barring Service Check (Due to the range of patients you may encounter, you are to complete a mandatory enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. We operate both enhanced adult and children checks for this role in line with our compliance.)

- **Must be physically fit due to the demanding nature of the job**:
- Must have a caring attitude towards patients and an outgoing, friendly manner, able to show empathy
- be smart in appearance and be in good health
- Have a minimum education standard to GCSE in Mathematics and English (or equivalent)
- Ability to work to deadlines, at times under considerable pressure, without compromising standards of performance, calm under pressure
- The job also requires that all drivers are flexible to fit in with fluctuation in service demand or operational need on the contract, i.e. a flexible working pattern, (Between Monday and Saturday, hours to be discussed)
