**The Role**

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As **_Nuclear Decommissioning Apprentice, _**you will be acting under direction of the Waste Innovation Team Leader and facility supervisors to operate plant system and equipment, performing various hand-on tasks mainly in active facilities, managed by the Waste Innovation Group, ensuring maximum utilisation, whilst upholding safety and compliance with relevant regulations to mitigate risk.

You will play a pivotal role in complying with and accurately managing records relating to Operating Instructions or Work Control documentation for operation of plant or equipment within the facilities to perform tasks relating to nuclear decommissioning which includes disassembling or decontamination, and waste management, e.g. sort, segregate, transfer & minimise waste arisings as well as assisting with installations and commissioning of new equipment under supervision.

**Additional Responsibilities**
- Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard; Nuclear operative / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
- Attend designated training provider, develop and attain a good knowledge of engineering skills.
- Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
