We are Stealth Optional, a technology media platform that joined Gfinity Digital Media in 2020, and are dedicated to providing readers with the latest news and information from a wide range of fields, including the metaverse, gaming, AI, space, and more.

We’re now searching for a Staff Writer as our team continues to grow, ideally with comfortable general knowledge of modern video games and gaming hardware.

Working within our team, you will report directly to the site’s Editor-in-Chief and be required to cover a range of topics, including new and upcoming video game and hardware releases, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, new Meta Quest headsets, and the latest NVIDIA GPUs, alongside more general technology queries. This role will require someone with a strong understanding of SEO for both evergreen and short/mid-term query work.

You will also collaborate with the rest of the team as they work toward personal and team KPIs. You will be asked to report back on how your own content is performing and come up with appropriate strategies based on events, releases, and more.

Due to the nature of this role, we are asking for someone with at least one year of experience in a full-time writing role or an extensive portfolio of freelance work.

You will receive complete on-the-job training from our editorial staff and will quickly develop a comprehensive knowledge of editorial best practices and SEO.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Writing query, news, and hub articles with a strong focus on gaming errors, fixes, and new releases.
- Performing other writing tasks as required, including creating guides, features, and reviews.
- Producing error-free copy to a deadline, strictly following our SEO and style guidelines.
- Writing five pieces of content per day at the discretion of the senior editorial staff.
- Performing regular maintenance on our existing hubs, queries, and evergreen content.
- Sub-editing the work of others when required.
- Working with senior editorial staff to deliver on content strategy, perform competitor analysis, and identify traffic opportunities.
- Utilising our workflow tools effectively on a daily basis, including ClickUp.
- Working with network editors to develop cross-site content.
- Flagging social-worthy content to the site's Social Engagement Lead.
- Performing other tasks across the brand's digital and social platforms.
- Other tasks as decided by senior editorial staff.

**Essential skills**:

- A clean, personable writing style.
- Excellent attention to detail, both when writing and performing other tasks.
- A strong work ethic.
- The ability to collaborate with others as part of a larger team.
- One year of full-time experience in a similar role or a strong freelance portfolio.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of social media trends and the latest modern video games.
- The ability to find strong, social-focused angles for your news coverage.
