Head of Technology

**Job Summary**

As the Head of Technology at Uniquely, you will be leading a dynamic team responsible for overseeing all technology operations as well as the implementation of new IT systems, Databases and Policies. Your role will involve setting the strategic direction for system evolution, harnessing AI and cutting-edge technologies to promote innovation and streamline processes within Uniquely. You will also be responsible for spearheading the technology strategy and driving future enhancements. In addition, you will play a crucial role in leading the IT team at Uniquely, fostering strong relationships with partners and suppliers to achieve collective goals and working closely with the business to ensure IT is a key driver in decision making and leads the way in resolving business issues.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage and provide direction for the IT team in support of business operations. Motivates, develops and coaches IT team to ensure best performance at all times.
- Analysing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology and data needs for present day and into the future.
- Devising and establishing IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by the executive team.
- Ensure all IT technology functions are operating effectively and efficiently with necessary security and business continuity plans in place.
- Lead and deliver large scale system enhancements or new deployments as required by business users or to deliver strategic objectives aligned with process improvements or operational efficiencies.
- Ensure that any new software integration into the company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance and interface specifications.
- Track system issues and assess the impact on operational performance; troubleshoot system problems with users; direct widespread system issues to the proper support team and manage the resolution back to the business.
- Monitor incident trends and anticipate potential problems for proactive resolution.
- Use initiative to propose solutions to strategic and operational problems and identify opportunities for collaborative activity, including innovation to further the strategic aims of Uniquely.
- Database management, developing and testing new database and data handling systems, monitoring efficiency and designing and preparing reports for management and clients

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
- Educated to degree level in a related area with a relevant professional qualification - Computer Science, MIS, DBA and similar (or equivalent evidence of experience)
- 5+ years' experience as Head of Technology
- Proven experience in the development of a significant strategy that demonstrates the capacity to deliver and support significant business growth and delivers operational efficiencies and process improvements.
- Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders through strong communication skills, impactful messages and personal credibility. Sets the strategic direction and communicates it in a clear and concise way.
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, database management information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
- Expertise in data centre management and data governance
- Demonstrate research and problem-solving skills that will contribute to the development of the organisation. Collates complex information from diverse sources and makes business sense of it.
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
- Ability to manage and develop personnel
- External vendor management experience.
