The specialist FMCG department at Search recruitment group are proudly supporting an exciting food manufacturing business in East London on their search for a new Purchasing Manager.
As the Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for:

- Liaising with suppliers to negotiate and obtain best agreement, prices and services for the business ensuring margin maximisation
- Formulating and delivering a cost purchasing strategy as well as effective relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
- Will be responsible for all purchasing requirements on site (Raw Materials, Packaging and Site Supplies)
- Will be responsible for streamlining all the purchasing process across the site and ensuring that there is a uniform system in place
- Must have a track record of effective cost saving practices
- Collaboration with finance team in managing and tracking cost of product vs budget, ensuring that the key stakeholders within the business are aware of variance and proactively seeking solutions to beat budget costs.
- Development of strong working relationships within the business' growing supplier base, working with them and relevant third parties to improve the service and products they supply to the business
- Visiting suppliers as and when required along with liaising with them in relation to current market conditions
- Seeking out new opportunities of supply to improve availability, quality and/or commercials
- Undertaking tendering process, where appropriate, to select suppliers in line with strategic objectives
- Supporting the Head of Operations with developing a strategy for product purchasing in line with business objectives and leadership approval.
- Managing and developing strong working relationship with both factory production and technical teams, working collaboratively to ensure that the product being sourced is the best possible in line with the requirements of the production site and end customer
