Dorset Council is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Business Intelligence (BI) & Performance Business Partner for Adults and Housing.

**About the service**:
The BI & Performance Service is a central strategic intelligence function, helping to drive change and performance; responsible for providing high-quality, accurate and timely business intelligence and performance information across the council. The service has a very broad remit, making working here both exciting and unique

As a Service we have been busy developing new strategic performance tools and data products, including agreeing an exciting 5-year Data & BI strategy. The work we do has a big impact and is central to delivering on the council’s ambitions to become an ever more data-driven organisation. We provide business intelligence to drive strategic decision making, aiding our senior leadership team, elected councillors, and directorate teams. We cover the following areas:

- Performance, Data & Analytics
- Selected Adult Social Care and Children’s statutory reporting
- Central Policy, Strategy & Research
- Risk Management

**What you can expect to be doing**:
Now is an exciting time to join us as the BI & Performance Business Partner for Adults and Housing at Dorset Council. We are transforming how we work with local communities and across our Integrated Care System.

You will possess excellent communication skills with the ability to forge strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for someone who is passionate about how we use insight and intelligence to shape our services and provide assurance that we are delivering the best possible outcomes for people.

You will be pivotal in ensuring the links between our Corporate BI and Performance Service and the directorate, ensuring support to wider strategic initiatives such as the Council Plan, Corporate Performance Framework and key transformational programmes such as Our Future Council.

Using your extensive experience, you will be able to identify creative BI & Data solutions to address a range of insight, intelligence, and reporting challenges that support the day-to-day management of the business but also support preparation for the new CQC Assurance Framework.

Using your well-developed professional background in Adults & Housing reporting you will be able to identify creative solutions to enhance insight, intelligence, and reporting to drive forward performance improvements, and we hope that you will use your customer-focused attitude to contribute to the success of the team.

This is a strategic role where you will be actively partnering with the Adults and Housing leadership teams, supporting them by proactively identifying opportunities to improve performance and make greater use of Business Intelligence to both improve and transform ways of working. You will be a trusted advisor, able to offer constructive challenge, positioning directorate performance within the council’s wider strategic objectives. Working with Business Partners from other directorates and those supporting other central corporate functions, you will understand linkages in activity across the organisation and how these relate to the Adults & Housing Directorate and any implications for performance.

Key stakeholders will include the council’s senior leadership team, directorate management team, operational managers, project teams, internal ICT and digital colleagues and any regional benchmarking groups.

Importantly, as part of the BI & Performance management team, you will help to guide the future direction of the central Business Intelligence and Performance service.
