The ability to provide analytical support to quickly assimilate complex and/or conflicting information and determine appropriate action is essential. Detailed working knowledge of the Health and Care system and in particular Cancer services is desirable, but not essential
As a dynamic and enthusiastic Business Analyst, you will be capable of demonstrating a methodical and structured approach to analysing, interpreting and advising on complex data or information, together with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels both within and external to the organisation.
The role will offer opportunities to set the standards and lead on the use of data and information throughout the Integrated Care System (ICS) and Wessex Cancer Alliance (WCA) in order to bring business intelligence and data analytics to the forefront of shaping patient care and population health.
The post holder will also liaise with analytical capabilities elsewhere within the ICS and WCA to promote collaborative working; introduce defined standards on reporting and presenting; drive best practice and ensure effective usage of analytical solutions across the ICS and Wessex.
In addition to proven experience and a progressive outlook, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to motivate others to achieve positive outcomes, meet tight deadlines and objectives, and aspire to deliver innovative technology solutions for the NHS in a digital age.
Recommend and implement strategic improvements to streamline and enhance existing processes and systems of the ICS health and social care partners, promoting greater efficiency and effectiveness within the Business Intelligence teams. Determine and implement improvements to data processing and information reporting systems.

Be a recognised, trusted champion and advocate for all DiiS activities in the Dorset ICS and those of its counterparts elsewhere.
Review and keep current the vision and strategy for the effective use of the DiiS and associated enabling digital services to support the delivery of the wider Digital agenda and therefore the ICS.
To establish and maintain effective working relationships within the broader Digital Team and across System Partner organisations.
Contribute to and present, complex and formal communication/briefings on sensitive issues within DiiS and BI services, the wider Integrated Care System and Wessex Cancer Alliance.
To provide overall functional or line management to the DiiS Team, regardless of employing organisation, managing the teams work programme to ensure delivery in accordance with agreed best practice, change and project management principles, using specialist knowledge across a range of good practice techniques and tools and structured management approaches which are relevant and proportionate to the scale of each project, underpinned by theory and experience.
Utilise agreed templates and design analytical reporting and presentation templates.
Support the development of tools that are adapted to specific analytical/ intelligence outputs ensuring continuity and sustainability of business intelligence outputs.
Support the development and implementation of service redesign, including working with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders.
Review plans which may contain complex facts or situations, analyse and interpret these, and provide evaluations across a range of complex or highly complex project issues where there may be more than one course of action on order to provide a high level of internal challenge, using ways of working and persuasion to motivate and influence other senior managers to realign their practice where necessary.
Be responsible for a high standard of work supporting the delivery of projects on time, to quality standards and in a cost effective manner; prioritising projects within the resources available.
Work with regional and national partners to influence policy, approach and offer insight into guidelines on the delivery and implementation of people and data plans.
