**Overview of the Organisation**
The London Basketball Association (LBA) provides sustainable and regular participation in the sport of basketball whilst aiding and encouraging a variety of career paths for young people living in London’s most deprived and isolated communities.
**Main Purpose**
- To assist in the ongoing writing of grants, trusts, bursaries, funds, financial support and tenders for government, local authority, sports governing bodies and any other funding organisation.
- To drive compelling funding campaigns and develop strong strategic partnerships with funding decision makers.
- Create long term funding strategies for the LBA to ensure its ongoing success.
**Key Responsibilities**
- To liaise and collaborate with internal team members with fundraising projects, and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
- Write, submit and manage varying grant proposals and reports on behalf of the LBA.
- To identify grant funding opportunities that will be beneficial to LBAs cause.
- To provide prospective funders with supporting documents.
- Meet the funders through webinars/sessions.
- To contribute to the development of funding relationships and partnerships.
- To be engaged in fundraising with the Corporate Sector to generate funding income and non-funding support.
- To maintain records with computer databases i.e. Google Drive.
- To deliver a high standard of customer service to participants of fundraising activities.
- To provide efficient administrative and support services to the fundraising team.
- Research awards, interns and potential partners.
- Attending different training.
- To support other Ad-hoc responsibilities.
**Experience & Knowledge**
- Ideally, at least 1 year previous grant writing experience within the Charity, Not for Profit or public sectors.
- Ideally, holds a degree in one of the following; Law, Politics, Economics, English, Social Policy or similar.
- Proficient knowledge of fundraising methods.
- Proficient in measuring and reaching business income goals.
- Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
- A willingness to remain abreast of the latest trends, best practices, and ethics.
**Skills**
- Very strong verbal and written communication.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Packages such as MS-Word and Excel.
- The ability to plan work and meet deadlines (deadline-driven).
- Able to work under their own autonomy or as part of a team.
- Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues.
**Personal Requirements**
- Own a computer or secure access to one.
- Passionate about helping young people learn.
- You are creative, innovative, and always think outside the box.
