Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Class Volunteer
5 days ago
We are looking for people to assist the facilitators of our Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) sessions.
CST is a programme of themed activities, carried out over several weeks in small groups, with each session covering a different topic, designed to improve the mental abilities and memory of someone with dementia.
What's in it for me?
- Supporting CST sessions is very rewarding. Clients really enjoy their time with us and look forward to coming each week, interaction with volunteers is a big part of this.
- Gain experience working with people who have mild-moderate dementia.
- Meet new people and have fun.
- Reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed.
- Be a vital part in providing an NHS-funded service and help support older people in our local community.
All necessary training will be given. We urgently need help to run our classes at the Portfield and Burton Community centres. Applicants will be called by the service co-ordinator so more information on available session timings and locations and the nature of the role can be discussed. All volunteers are required to undergo a DBS check, as we work with a vulnerable group.

**Salary**: £0.01 per year
