Sheffield, United Kingdom Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join us in the Early Intervention in Psychosis service, a team which works with young people experiencing first episode psychosis.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain post-qualification experience in a skilled, specialist team. You will be joining a large and friendly multidisciplinary team in which there are great prospects for developing a good range of skills in a supportive and dynamic environment. The job will involve working alongside experienced MDT colleagues to offer a service to users and their families; joint & indirect work with colleagues (team formulation, staff training, support and consultation around psychological issues); and appropriate audit, evaluation & research activities as required. You will be required to deliver evidence-based psychological approaches to our service users, as identified in the National guidelines, namely cognitive behavioural therapy for psychosis (CBTp) and family interventions.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.

The clinical psychologists and CBT therapists within the EI team are valued team members, working directly with service users (and their families) who are receiving care and treatment (including working with people in crisis) and providing indirect interventions through team formulation, joint work, consultation and teaching/ training.

You should have post-qualification (or trainee/placement) experience of working in a CMHT or EI service with people with mental health difficulties including psychosis, bipolar disorder and trauma-related complex difficulties. You should be able to demonstrate leadership skills and possess enthusiasm and willingness to work proactively in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency setting. This role provides excellent opportunities for developing your skills in both direct and indirect team working, within a supportive team of experienced psychological therapists.

The job will involve working alongside experienced MDT colleagues to offer one-to-one evidence-based psychological interventions to service users and their families, contributing to and delivering group work. The role also includes joint and indirect work with colleagues (team formulation, staff training, support and consultation around psychological issues); and appropriate audit, evaluation and research activities as required.

We are passionate about providing the very best care to the people we support, and we're looking for amazing people who share this passion to join us.

What is it that makes our Trust such a special place to work? Well, it's all about the people. Our staff, service users, carers and families all come from such diverse backgrounds and all have expertise and stories to share.

It’s important that you feel supported in your role, that the people who you work with are as passionate as you are and that your health and wellbeing is taken care of

If you're interested in developing your career, you'll have access to a range of training and education opportunities, including apprenticeships, work experience and placements, as well as the chance to get involved in research.

We are all very proud of the difference we make to people's lives each and every day and if that's something that you'd like to be part of we'd love to have you with us.

Please see the job description and person specification for more detailed information about this role
