**Information & Advice**
- To provide an Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington Information & Advice service to, and in support of, older people and their relatives and carers.
- To provide advice to older people on welfare benefits, care, housing, local services, utilities and struggling with fuel poverty on a Face to Face and telephone basis. Home visiting service to also be provided as required.
- To support service users to fill in forms and access online services.
- To assist in the provision of a high-quality Advice Case Work service for older people. maintaining up-to-date files and records of interviews and service provided in accordance with Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington quality standards and external accreditation as appropriate.
- To work with other members of the Information & Advice team to improve the effectiveness of Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington providing relief cover for other staff if and when required.
- To work closely with other key local partners and agencies and provide signposting and referral routes.
**Main Responsibilities**
- To contribute and develop the provision of Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington’s Information and Advice service for older people.
- To undertake Welfare Benefits checks on a face-to-face and telephone basis, and completion of forms.
- To deliver outreach benefits take-up interviews and home appointments across the Hambleton district.
- To promote and publicise the service with key health and community staff and agencies, and local communities.
- To develop publicity displays and materials to raise awareness and assist with day-to-day activities and resources.
- To meet delivery targets and completion of documents and reports as required by the grant programmes and funding requirements.
- To work in conjunction with the other Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington staff and local partnership agencies involved in service for older people and their carers.
- Participation in internal and external training opportunities.
- Attend supervision meetings and monthly team meetings to review and plan your work.
- Observe and comply with Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington’s policies and procedures.

**Special requirements**
The post holder must be prepared to undertake an appropriate Disclosure and Barring service check and provide references in accordance with the agreed recruitment procedure.

Travel is an expectation of this post, a full driving licence and have access to own transport is required.

Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: £20,475.00 per year
