Rosewood Free School is a specialist school catering for children with severe or profound learning and physical disabilities aged 2-19+.

**Job Purpose**

To work effectively with children and families, to secure improved outcomes and reduce the need for specialist service interventions.

To work with individuals and families from within the school community, giving information, advice and guidance, to help them deal with any issues they may be facing, in order that they may make positive life choices and fulfil their potential.

**Main Tasks**

1. To work in conjunction with the staff and SLT of Rosewood with families linked to the school community, to provide tailored support to individuals and families, supporting them in their life circumstances and to encourage self-development.

2. To be responsible for the Health and safety matters while working with groups/individuals.

3. To deliver group work as deemed appropriate / necessary to support needs.

4. To maintain administrative records and to prepare reports and other statistical information, as required.

5. To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young persons and vulnerable adults, for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.

6. To attend care package reviews and other statutory meetings, and to refer/signpost families to other agencies as appropriate.

7. To network with other agencies where appropriate.

8. To update Rosewood SLT on developments and participate in both the planning and evaluation of our family work.

9. To participate in supervision, staff meetings and training as appropriate.

10. To organise engagement activities that provide opportunities for families to meet and support each other.

11. To deliver induction training to the school staff to promote family centred working practices.

12. To undertake initial and regularly update Safeguarding training and work closely with the school’s Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL).

Salary Range: Scale Point 19-25 (FTE £27,582 to £32,019) depending on qualifications and experience. Salaries are pro-rated on hours worked for term time only.
